A 10pm run to Sonic for Rootbeer floats... our first spontaneous outing since baby boy was born.

2.26.09 - Thursday

Garbage Day

Our little town is a bit behind the times... instead of city garbage cans they issue us black garbage bags.... we wonder if they'll ever enter the 21st century.

They also don't take credit/debit cards... all city utility bills have to be paid in cash or check.

p.s. We just found out that Auntie Riah and Uncle Curtis are going to have a baby this fall! They've wanted a baby for a long time and we are sooo excited for them!
The Chinese prediction calendar says its a boy!

2.24.09 - Tuesday

I always know when he's awake from his nap because I can hear him jabbering through the baby monitor... it the sweetest thing... when I go in to the room to get him out of bed he gives me the biggest smile and gets all excited and starts flapping his arms and legs... and then we snuggle on the couch for awhile... its the highlight of my day!

p.s. when I went to get him up today he wouldn't smile for the camera... he's learning far too young!

2.23.09 - Monday

A trip to the hospital to visit my friend Joy and baby Sophie... the Haut's have five adopted children and baby Sophie is their first biological child... after 10 years, a dream come true.

2.22.09 - Sunday

The church parking lot Sunday as we're leaving church...

I love Sunday's... I love going to church... I love the hymns and the Sacrament... I love being with those who believe the way I do... I love seeing friends and the girls that I love... its my favorite day of the week!

2.21.09 - Saturday

Super Saturday at Church that I got to help organize.

Turned out really well... and everybody seemed to have a good time.

I didn't get to finish my projects but once I do I might take a picture of that to use for today's picture... we'll have to see.

2.20.09 - Friday

We stopped by the mall for a few minutes to say hi to Joey who was working the Expo for the station... and to show off baby boy.

p.s. this picture was taken in '06 at the work expo... since everything looked exactly the same and I didn't have my camera with me we're using this picture... why re-invent the wheel?

2.19.09 - Thursday

4 month check up.

We LOVE our pediatrician... she's wonderful!!!

Little man weighs in at 16 lbs 7 oz and 27 inches long (he's super duper tall... in the 93% for his age)

Shots were also included in the days activity.

Glad our little one is healthy and happy... just wish he would stay little a little longer.

p.s. we also get to start on solid food... so many new and exciting things!

2.18.09 - Wednesday

Working at the Homeless Shelter for our Young Men/Young Women activity. This is my buddy Quincey... I LOVE Quincey!

Things I love about Q:

1. He never ever lets his special needs get in the way... he's involved in anything and everything. I love this about him!

2. He calls us Francks. Never Brother or Sister. Never Mr. or Mrs. Just Francks. He'll come up to me and say hi Francks, where's Francks (meaning Joey). Always. And I love it.

3. He calls the baby Joseph or Snuggle Bunny which I think is adorable since I don't call the baby either of those names. Not sure where he came up with Snuggle Bunny but it warms my heart.

4. He tells me we should adopt because adopted kids are cool (he's adopted)... and I agree... adopted kids are way cool.

5. He loves loves loves cars and is always telling me which car I should buy (porche, corvette, vipor, etc)... he's very disapointed that we drive a mini van.

2.17.09 - Tuesday

A screen shot of my work email... Tuesday's are terrible... they're by far my busiest/worst day of the week... its all in the days work of an Expense Report princess for an Information Technology Services Company.

2.16.09 - Monday

A trip to Sam's to pick up some much needed groceries... it's been way tooooo long! A fun time had by all.

2.15.09 - Sunday

My cousin Marylynn and her family just moved to Dallas and my cousin Joseph and his wife Maren are moving here this summer to go to med school... we're going to have a Texas Chapter of the Boone Family! We got together tonight for the first time for dinner.

Other item to note... Marylynn has an invitro baby and told us about her fabulous Dr... and its because of her that we now have our miracle baby.

We ordered Chinese take out and watched Criminal Minds... if that doesn't say romance then I don't know what does

Joey has been working a million hours and just wasn't interested in fighting the crowds at the restaurants... and a night home sounded good to me too... we also kinda forgot to do gifts.

Next year we'll do better.

Frozen Pizza... a pathetic excuse for dinner but with a really busy week its the best I could manage tonight... it would have been nice though if I hadn't left it in the oven too long...

2.12.09 - Thursday

A fun afternoon with friends making a Valentine's craft... the juggling of schedules just to make this afternoon work was insane... but so worth it... I love these women!

2.11.09 - Wednesday

Today was a hard day. Trying to work, a fussy baby and trying to make 3 dozen batches of brownies and a a large batch of homemade hot fudge sauce for our Young Women's program tonight. I had a small incident with the hot fudge and now my kichen looks like Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory exploded. Chocolate everywhere.

Sometimes I think its just as important to document the hard times as well as the good times... my life is no where perfect and my kitchen tonight is proof of that!

p.s. Its embarrassing for me to post this picture but I feel like its the reality of my life today.

2.10.09 - Tuesday

Mr. Man has a new toy...

1. I can't believe he's old enough to be in a jumper... sigh
2. Our living room has turned in to a toy store
3. We used gift money from Grandpa & Grandma Mac... they're always so generous!

2.9.09 - Monday

A friend in need is a friend indeed. We were both having a rough day and lots of struggles shared between emails... she's a tough cookie this one. I decided to surprise her and showed up at her house with lunch and we drowned our sorrows in really good Mexican food.

Note to self: We need to do this more often!

2.8.09 - Sunday

Home from church with a sick little man... poor little thing couldn't keep his eyes open when the camera flashed... we tried several times and this is as good as it gets. Hope he gets feeling better soon!

2.7.09 - Saturday

A roadtrip to Southern Oklahoma with my favorite group of women... I love them dearly.
We spent the day scouting out sites for Girl's Camp... we found the perfect spot right on the lake... it's going to be sooo fun! I can't wait!

2.6.09 - Friday

Bottles, bottles... feels like we wash a million of them every day... thank goodness we have a dishwasher... washing that many by hand every single day would make me crazy!

2.5.09 - Thursday

We drive to the University of North Texas in Denton (about an hour from our house) so that Joey can take the GRE... the first step in Master's Degree process. Little man and I set up house in the student center and get comfy for the four hour wait.

2.4.09 - Wednesday

A long night of high fevers and little sleep Dr. Gajda wants us back for another round of antibiotics... thankfully daddy comes on this visit to help with the evil shots... this evening he seems to be doing better and hopefully is on the mend.. it's our first round of real sickies... we feel like we've now been thoroughly initiated to parenthood

2.3.09 - Tuesday

Pediatricians office... little man is sick... 103.2 fever, double ear infection, a sore throat and two shots of antibiotics in the leg... poor little thing is miserable.

p.s. on a happy note there was an email waiting for me letting me know I'd been selected to be on the Ettes & Company design team. wahoo!

Jury duty... it makes the American legal system go 'round.

Bath Time

I love bath time with little one... he splashes and kicks and makes the cutest sounds... and then when I get him out I rub him down in pink lotion and nibble on his cute little legs. It's one of my favorite parts of the day.

P.S. I love babies in pink lotion so much... he'll be required to wear it until he leaves for college.
