January 13-16, 2011

King of the Nursery.
I've been subbing in nursery a lot until they find a replacement. It's been so fun to hang out with Buddy... he definitely loves nursery!
We have a serious love of Cap'n Crunch. When we went to the store today we had to restock the Cap'n Crunch. I put two boxes in the cart and Buddy started clapping. He's so my kid.

Lions and Tigers and Bears... oh my!
A trip to the quirky bank for a "Safari" with our little playschool group.
The lobby is full of all sorts of random stuffed animals.

Made meals for three friends today. I like writing love notes on top of the tinfoil.

January 9-12, 2011

1.12.11 - Yesterday we were a little sick... today we are a lot sick. And an angel appeared on my doorstep with a hot pan of lasagna... I aspire to be as good of a friend as Joy is to me.

1.11.11 -I don't know if it's from all our frolicking in the snow but little one and I are getting sick. A box of Kleenex was our best friend today. Another reason I'm so grateful I get to work from home.

1.10.11 - Texas boy's first time playing in the snow (ever!)... he kept saying "cold, mama! cold!"... haha!

1.9.11 - You know you live in Texas when they cancel school and close the stores because of one inch of snow.

1.7.11 - Girls night out... you can tell by the fancy earrings I'm wearing (not the outfit I wore though :)

Attended a swanky post-Christmas party hosted by a mom from our playschool group.  Girl talk and fancy hor d'oeuvres.. a really fun night!
1.6.11 - We live in a really neat little historical town... birth place of Pres. Eisenhower, Katy Depot, Lake Texoma and Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge just to name a few.

I love these cool murals painted on the buildings downtown depicting the history of our town.

1.5.11 - At breakfast he says "More apple bob (apple sauce) please!"... I wish a million times a day that I could bottle up his cuteness and keep him two forever.

1.4.11 - Speaking of organization... my white board that hangs on my fridge. Lists, notes and things to do. It's a mess but it helps keep me sane.

1.3.11 - A couple of years ago Ali Edwards started "word of the year"... a word to focus on as you go about daily life. I've never done it before but this year I'm picking "Organization"... I'm not sure that's what she had in mind when she started the "word of the year" movement... but that's my word and I'm sticking to it. Organizing my home, my computer, my pictures and my life.

**************
1.2.11 - First Sunday of the year and we're now at 9:00am church... grateful for the Gospel and a new year with fresh possibilities.

1.1.11 - Started out the new year with a fun dinner and everyone making a dish...whatever they wanted...
Yay for dinner by candle light, sparkling cider and new traditions!
p.s. Happy 1.1.11 !!!

Dinner and games with some of our favorite friends!

Taking a spin in our new red wagon... nothing says "little boy" to me like a red wagon and a baseball in his lap.  I think these are some of my favorite pictures ever!
At the beginning of the Christmas season we bought buddy a little nativity board book... he loves the book... several times a day he asks to read the "baby Jesus" book.  I love reading the Baby Jesus book with him!

Fun gifts, a very excited two years, Christmas lunch with the Moak's, a long nap, talking to family, watching movies... I would call Christmas magical and a complete success!

It was Christmas Eve and the stockings were hung... celebrating one of our favorite days of the year!
Breakfast at Cracker Barrell
Delivering gifts with the missionaries and sharing a Christmas message with a sweet family
Tamales for dinner
Delivering our final 12 days of Christmas gift
Dropping off a Secret Santa gift
Opening our Christmas PJ's
Sprinkling Reindeer Food
Tracking Santa on the Santa radar

Our new advent calendar... I loooooooooove it!!

December 19-23, 2010

A wonderful dinner and christmas Family Home Evening with the Coopers and Bangerters.  We're so blessed to have such a great church family here.

Total Lunar Eclipse at 2am.

This is the first Winter Solstice Eclipse in 456 years.  So cool to be able to see it.

Packages to family and friends finally in the mail!  Due to blizzards all over the country my gifts were almost a week late getting here and were delayed getting mailed out.  Wrapping and putting together packages to mail is one of my favorite holiday things to do.

Buddy showing off his cute reindeer craft from nursery... the face is his foot and the antler's his hand.  He loves it!  He has the best nursery leader... we love Sister Jackman!

"A Texas Christmas" party... complete with Santa, BBQ and good friends!

Every morning when he wakes up first thing he does is runs in to the livingroom, puts his little chair in front of the tree and says "Lights!  Mama, lights!

Shopping for the Ward Christmas party... shopping is always way more fun when I'm not in charge of the budget... thank goodness that's Dori's job!

Hours of fun with the little nativity people... one of my favorite Christmas memories this year.

This is how we do it when mama is sick but still has to work... two laptops... one with Caillou playing and the other with expense reports.  Don't be jealous of my glamorous life.  :)

We started Secret Santa for a family tonight... lots of fun sneaking gifts on to their porch and mailbox... one down 11 to go!

A little lesson on the birth of the Savior and then the gifting of the Fisher Price Nativity to Buddy... I love love love this nativity set.

December 6-11, 2010

A trip to "Bethlehem Revisted" complete with camels, Roman Soliders and King Herod (who had a strong Texas accent)!
A fun night with the Jackmans!

A birthday lunch with Tracy... one of my dearest friends. She is good and kind and is one of the strongest women I know. I've learned so much from her and am grateful our paths have crossed in life. I hope we get to be neighbors in heaven!
Thursday 12/9
Family Night at Chik-fil-A with our playgroup

A late late night of taping and mudding with Joy... trying to get her upstairs ready for family that's coming for Christmas.
Joy is amazing... six kids (and one on the way)... a husband who is a truck driver and is never home. does (big!) home repair projects on her own and is constantly serving and helping others. I'm grateful for her friendship.

Finally setting up the tree... I think this is the latest we've been in years.
Lots of help from little hands... he took ornament hanging very seriously.
I love Christmas with a little one!

Monday 12/6 -
Happy St. Nicholas day!

December 1-5, 2010

I always want to remember this moment… little man all bundled up in his jammies and coat with his pink doggie and silky ready to look at Christmas lights…. How he exclaimed “oh, wow!” and “havay! (hooray)” over and over again at all the pretty lights… and I always want to remember how incredibly magical Christmas is with a two year old.

A weekend of swimming and jumping on beds with our best friends at the Great Wolf Lodge!

We love cakes from Walmart bakery ... Joey manages to buy one every single weekend.  Maybe I should stop sending him to the store on his way home from work?

Matching Real Salt Lake scarves for two cute Joey's

Leave him alone for two minutes and he gets in to all sorts of mischief!

Tonight we got to go to Dallas and have dinner with Uncle Curtis who was in town on business from Utah.  We love when family comes to visit!
