Met my dear BYU friend Jeanette and little Laura in Dallas for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen... we discussed our fertility woes and the unfairness of it all.
I introduced her to the joy that is Sam Moon and we completed the day with a trip to Ikea.
I love old friends.

One of our many weekly trips to Walmart. I spend way too much time and money here. But I sure love my shopping buddy!

4.23.09 - Thursday

This is our favorite place to get Mexican food... it's soooooo good! I think the bus is so cute and quirky and the family that owns it are so nice! This trip they wanted to know if I was interested in trading little buddy for tamales... I don't think they have a clue how many tamales would even be involved to make the trade even... good thing I don't want to trade him!

Little buddy's 6 month check up

19 lbs
27 3/4 inches

He's doing good and right on schedule (except he can't/won't hold his own bottle yet)... we need to work more on him eating solids better... he doesn't like it. He's still super tall for his age... he scoots all over the place, she said his teeth should start breaking in the next 2-3 weeks...he had two shots but now he's done with shots until he turns a year... he's a sweet little thing and we're so lucky he's ours!!

4.20.09 = Monday

A quick trip in to New Orleans before we fly home... our first (and favorite stop) Cafe Du Monde for yummy famous beignets and hot chocolate. The perfect way to end our trip!

4.19.09 - Sunday

An evening walk on the beach... a beautiful sunset... our last night before we head home... saying goodbye to this place we've fallen in love with. Real life is so hard to go back to. Sigh.

4.18.09 - Saturday

We spent the morning at the pool (but it was a bit too cold to enjoy)... the afternoon touring Fort Morgan (a big deal during the war of 1812 and Civil War), watching the pretty dolphins in the bay and then eating the best fried shrimp ever. It was a very good day indeed.

My favorite picture of the day... Is there anything cuter than little baby toes in sand? I think not.

We're off on our very first family vacation to Gulf Shores, AL. Hooray!
I was really hoping everyone would look at the camera and participate in this family picture... but somebody wouldn't look at the camera... I'm not naming names though... mostly because he's so darn cute. We'll have to try this picture again on our flight home.

I'm still sick. This is as creative as I could get with today's picture. The classy part is that we hang up mail with clothespins. Awesome :)

4.12.09 - Sunday

I have the flu bad. When I imagined our first Easter as a family of three it was the fun weekend we had planned, church on Sunday in matching outfits for the boys, Easter dinner with friends and reflecting on the true meaning of Easter with lots of fun mixed in.

It was NOT:

Me getting sick with the flu Friday night and throwing up all day Saturday

Sleeping all day Saturday and Sunday... missing a party, dinner with friends and church.

An Easter dinner that consisted of soup for me and frozen pizza for Joey

The Easter bunny finally making an appearance Sunday night right before little buddy went to bed

Little man dressed in this very creative outfit by his daddy... including his striped orange kangaroo shirt, red and blue floral shorts and blue socks

I guess all you can do is laugh and be glad there's a next year!

4.11.09 - Saturday

He's the cutest bunny I've ever seen!

His daddy says he's cutting me off from the cutesie outfits when he's a year old. We'll see about that.

4.10.09 - Friday

I got to take dinner to my sweet friend Angie and see her adorable new baby. It was a such a fun visit and I looooove new babies.

P.S. She just had a baby and is skinny as can be. Sometimes I want to not like her very much... too bad I adore her so much! :)

4.9.09 - Thursday

It's a really really good thing these things only come around once a year. But I'm proud of myself... this is my first and only bag of the season and its still half full. Wahoo.

4.8.09 - Wednesday

This women is an angel... she continually serves other and I want to be like her someday.

She watches little man on Wednesday nights at the church while I'm teaching my Young Women's class. I appreciate it more than she'll ever know... it takes a huge weight off my mind that he's close by and with somebody I trust. Every week when I thank her she says its nothing but its everything to me and I'm so grateful for her kindness.

4.7.09 - Tuesday

Haha... how is this for a horrible photo!

Our 3:00am feeding... Little man and I have a standing date early every morning. Truth be told... I love these little times together... he's so snuggly and gives out the cutest little sighs. I'll be sad when he can hold his own bottle for more than a minute at a time.

Ummmmm... I should probably rotate my food storage a little more often. Expired in 2005... yikes.

Really bad photo, but fabulous weekend... I love General Conference... its a good pick me up and a good reminder that I need to be doing better. One of my favorite weekends of the year!

4.4.09 - Saturday

Sickness Round #2

I thought we were done. Both boys seemed to be doing better and then this morning when little buddy woke up he was running a fever and then he started crying and the projectile vomiting started and lasted on and off all day. We took turns cuddling with him all day. I don't mind that one bit :)

4.3.09 - Friday

After 3 days off for sickness its back to work.

On days when its warm like today we go out and sit on the bench in our yard and wait for daddy to come home from work... it's a happy time of day.

4.2.09 - Thursday

A 9:55pm run to CVS to get some more stomach stuff for Joey... between RX's and stomach stuff I've been to CVS every single day this week. Sigh.

p.s. Little Man is six months old day... its going too fast!!

4.1.09 - Wednesday

Still sick. Day three of throwing up, the chills, a fever, a sinus infection and general miserable-ness. So a trip to the urgent care center to get drugs and Dr's orders to stay home from work until Monday.

p.s. Happy April Fool's day... although it was not celebrated... see above.

p.p.s. It was 12 years ago today that we got engaged!
