Lots of driving Up at 4:45am to take Sister Carroll to Dallas to the airport... back to Dension... out to Pottsboro to drop little buddy off at the Moak's... back to McKinney for dr's appt... back to Pottsboro for dinner with Moak's and then back home again.
I drove approximately 265 miles today... that's more than four and half hours of driving time!
P.S. Tracy's brother Casey and his wife Shalay are in town visiting from Montana... while having dinner at the Moak's we discovered that Shalay was in Joey's ward in Germany and her dad was his YM's leader! Crazy small world.

10.17.09 - Saturday

It was time to leave the family and fun and head home.
Getting checked in for our flight was stressful... I left the house three hours early just so I could get checked in... I used sky cap to check in my luggage, then turned in the rental car... and then carried baby, two carry on's, a diaper bag and a car seat up to short term parking so I could leave the car seat in Emma's car (who was in VA hence her car at the airport)... Got all of us (plus a laptop) through security. Checked in at our gate, walked four concourses to find milk for baby and made it back to the gate just in time to board. Phew. Some nice guy helped me put my carry on's overhead and the stewardess was awesome and so helpful... she even gave little buddy airline wings.
Got to Dallas, waited forever for the parking shuttle, sat across from Mitt Romney look alike, had the mean shuttle guy be mad at me because I left my ticket in the car (have no clue why he was so put out, I knew where I was parked!)... got baby and luggage loaded and drove the hour and 20 minutes home.... more than 12 hours later we finally got home... loooooooooooooooong day.

I went for a drive up the mountains... I went to enjoy the fall colors and spend a few minutes communing with naturing... it was going well until I realized I was out of gas and did NOT want to run out gas in the middle of nowhere... so my communing was cut short and I headed home. I so love Utah in the fall... its good for the soul.

10.14.09 - Wednesday

Drove to SLC and picked up Auntie Sara and Cousin Charly
Drove to Ogden to surprise Grandma Francks in our costumes and trick or treat and do lunch with her
SPEED to Mapleton (and hour and half late) for Auntie Emma's baby shower
All the cousins (except new baby McKenna) came over and we got dressed up in costumes for Halloween pictures and trick or treating at Grandma and Grandma's (major chaos and tears with 8 little kids... but too funny!)
Busy day but so fun... we are so blessed!

Lunch with Rita Baxter... one of my favoritest people in the whole world. Rita was the YW president that I served with in Louisana... I learned SO much from her... I adore her and am so grateful for the huge impact that she's had on my life. So many fun memories! The Baxter's just moved to Utah from Louisiana a couple of months ago... I don't know if Louisiana will ever be the same without them!
