October 2011

I'm just going to do one big massive post for all of October... I know... its a bit annoying... but its the only way I'm going to get caught up at this point!

Here goes.

Ice Cream date night with mommy while daddy is at Preisthood session.

 Celebrating 3 years old!

He loves to dance and sing... loves to watch Bubble Guppies and Peppa Pig.
Popcorn chicken, sandwiches and bananas are his favorite food.
His vocabulary is exploding and he's starting to form sentences.
Can count to 10 (most of the time 13), know all his colors and sings the alphabet song.
His Daddy is his best friend in the whole world... but is also a total mama's boy too.
We are so grateful for the miracle and blessing that he is.

When we got to Bo's this morning she had a little birthday party for Buddy.  Cutest thing ever!  Look at the cake she made... we absolutely love Bo!

I came in one morning and he had put on my sunglasses while he was eating breakfast. I thought it was so funny. Love this kid!!

One of the last nights as my little little boy... Things are changing so fast and pretty soon he's going to be a big boy... the binky went away today... potty training starts next week.  He's just growing up way too fast :(

Lunch date with my BYU bff Jeanette to catch up and meet her new daughter A.  Jeanette and her family have waited a looong time for this sweet little girl.  I love adoption and the gift of a new family.

We're so glad when daddy comes home... glad as we can be!

After a long week daddy finally comes home on Friday nights... its definitely become our favorite day of the week!

He likes to put the ball basket on his head and walk around the room saying "Mommy, I a Robot!"

cutest robot ever!

Taking a spin on his new birthday trike... my favorite part (excluding the cute three year old!) is the bell and tassels.  We haven't totally figured out the trike yet... mostly we got backwards... but pretty soon he'll have it mastered and be asking for a car.

Volunteering at the Katybug 5k run... a charity run for a little girl with leukemia.

The event was put together by Nicole and Tracy and I worked the event... they are such great women.  It was so fun to work with them again at this event.

Evening walks at Waterloo park.. this is my favorite time of year at Waterloo... the weather has cooled and the sun streams through the trees in the evenings... its absolutely beautiful!

The last couple of weeks when he gets out of the tub he covers up in the towel and says in a growling voice "I a monster!"

Halloween crafting with Angie... it was such a fun day!

We keep saying that we're going to get together to craft on a regular basis... but the last time we crafted together was last October... at least we're consistent!

A little bit of Autumn in our back yard (even if it doesn't feel like Fall!)

So we got the flu.  Really really bad.  Couldn't keep anything down for for over thirteen hours.  Including water.  I called the nurse to find out what I should do since I couldn't keep water down and she said to get myself to the hospital and get monitored and get an IV.  So I did.

My sweet neighbor Nicole drove me and stayed with me until Joey surprised me by showing up.  We got released about 1am and then he headed back to Ft. Worth bright and early the next morning.

Celebrating National Taco day with $1 tacos with our favorite neighbors at Fuzzy Taco shop.

Every little boy needs a superhero cape.
a few days after I was in the hospital it was Buddy's turn... couldn't keep anything down for a couple of days... the after hours nurse made me take him to the ER to be monitored for dehydration.

We snuggled up on hospital bed and watched Transformers. Finally got released about 3am when he could keep fluids down.

we're not really ER kind of people... so I think we've definitely had our share of trips for the next couple of years.

Every Wednesday we meet up with our church friends for Park day.

A Halloween pillow and cup of Halloween treats from Bo.  Such a fun thoughtful gift!

Halloween Costume Party with our playgroup... any excuse to wear our costumes!

Haunted House in Ft. Worth with the Fab Four.
I so love our time together.

Halloween craft activity with friends... who knew an orange could make such a cute pumpkin???

Our cute little friend Zoe's Peter Pan birthday party... complete with pirate/peter pan/tinkerbell costumes, dinner and a private showing of the Peter Pan movie... a fun night for all little pirates... arg!
Witches Lunch 2011
Good food, friends and a little Halloween fun with seven of my cutest witch friends!

On our way to Utah to spend Halloween with family... we were supposed to leave yesterday... but Buddy threw up all night and because of blizzards in Denver (our connection) we were able to change our tickets for free.  Tender mercies.

p.s. This is the first time we've ever flown in to Provo... I'm hooked!!

Hot, witchy sisters!
we didn't coordinate our costumes beforehand ... but I love that we matched!

Thanks to Emma and family for letting Buddy and I crash their church Halloween party!

Happy Birthday to my sweet mom who taught me a love of God, family, freedom and all things Halloween.

Little man's first time trick or treating door to door... he would get to the door, say "Happy Halloween" and then walk away without getting any candy.... at the end of the night he only ended up with four pieces of candy for his efforts.  Looks like we need to work on our trick or treating skills for next year!

Sept 25-30, 2011

new family pictures... so very very grateful these two (almost three) are mine forever.
p.s. today Joey and I were asked by the Stake President to be in charge of parts of the Pioneer Trek that our Stake is doing this Spring. But because of Joey's new living arrangements in Ft. Worth and us having a new baby a month before the Trek we're not going to be able to take the assignment. I'm sooo sad... I LOVE trek!

Tis the season for Football mums... a Texas Tradition.
Mums are everywhere right now... and the gaudier the mum the better!

A birthday lunch for our dear friend Tammy... hosted by Amy.
Tammy and Amy have been such dear friends to me... I love the opportunity to get together and celebrate and enjoy lunch with these great women.

Love my sweet neighbor Nicole... she called and asked if I needed anything from the store and milk and TP magically showed up at my door. So grateful for the sweet people who watch out for us.
Mormons and Texans make the best neighbors!
(not my real picture... just a space filler until I get my picture)
Buddy said he had lots of fun playing at Bo's today... looking at his feet I would guess so!
I love little boys and their dirty dirty feet!

Somebody is excited for this years JBF sale... he keeps telling me he wants ALL the racing cars.
This will be my fourth time consigning and my second time on the staff.
We love JBF!

Sept 18-24, 2011

Our last night together before Joey moved to Ft. Worth in the morning. We spent time on our bed (because Buddy kept saying "come lay down!") talking with Buddy jumping on the bed and us laughing. Our life as we know it right now is over for awhile... and I know that this living arrangement won't be forever... but right now my heart is breaking a little bit.

First day at the new job

We spent the day in Ft.Worth moving daddy in to his new apartment... what can I say... it's a bit ghetto... I guess he'll look that much forward to coming home on the weekends!
Craft day at the park with our play group... buddy and I were in charge of the craft... we read a fish story and then made made a cute handprint fish. We love spending time with our friends!

Criminal Minds Season Premiere with Joy (Nicole fell asleep and stood us up)... Joy made yummy treats and we enjoyed a new season of our favorite show!
(waiting for my real picture)

Train Concert w/friends

Tis the Season for cute glow in the dark skeleton jammies... yay Halloween!

Sept 11-17, 2011

10 years ago today our country was changed forever... we will never forget September 11th.

at least once a week while we're out running errands in the afternoon we'll stop by Sonic's Happy hour and take a drink to daddy at work. He'll come and sit in the van with us and chat for a few minutes before he has to get back to work... its one of my very favorite traditions and a highlight of our week.

It's September and still above 100 degrees... its been an incredibly long hot Summer. I'm so ready for Fall.
and don't be fooled... we didn't get as much rain as its showing.

Our first day back in Ms. Heidi's music class... Buddy is participating way more this semester than he did last semester... but he still gets really shy when put in the spotlight.
tomorrow is a new start for our little family... after 6.5 years Joey is leaving KTEN and starting his new job.
We're sad to leave KTEN and our good friends there but we're looking forward to this new adventure!

I love high school football in small Texas towns!!!
Unfortunately this is the last high school football game that joey will be working for awhile (maybe forever?)... today was his last day of work here in Denison... onward and upward to bigger and better things.

Tonight we had a big graduation party in on honor of Joey's Master degree.
We had a great turn out, the food was good and it so fun to spend the evening with wonderful friends!
