Sept 18-24, 2011

Our last night together before Joey moved to Ft. Worth in the morning. We spent time on our bed (because Buddy kept saying "come lay down!") talking with Buddy jumping on the bed and us laughing. Our life as we know it right now is over for awhile... and I know that this living arrangement won't be forever... but right now my heart is breaking a little bit.

First day at the new job

We spent the day in Ft.Worth moving daddy in to his new apartment... what can I say... it's a bit ghetto... I guess he'll look that much forward to coming home on the weekends!
Craft day at the park with our play group... buddy and I were in charge of the craft... we read a fish story and then made made a cute handprint fish. We love spending time with our friends!

Criminal Minds Season Premiere with Joy (Nicole fell asleep and stood us up)... Joy made yummy treats and we enjoyed a new season of our favorite show!
(waiting for my real picture)

Train Concert w/friends

Tis the Season for cute glow in the dark skeleton jammies... yay Halloween!

Sept 11-17, 2011

10 years ago today our country was changed forever... we will never forget September 11th.

at least once a week while we're out running errands in the afternoon we'll stop by Sonic's Happy hour and take a drink to daddy at work. He'll come and sit in the van with us and chat for a few minutes before he has to get back to work... its one of my very favorite traditions and a highlight of our week.

It's September and still above 100 degrees... its been an incredibly long hot Summer. I'm so ready for Fall.
and don't be fooled... we didn't get as much rain as its showing.

Our first day back in Ms. Heidi's music class... Buddy is participating way more this semester than he did last semester... but he still gets really shy when put in the spotlight.
tomorrow is a new start for our little family... after 6.5 years Joey is leaving KTEN and starting his new job.
We're sad to leave KTEN and our good friends there but we're looking forward to this new adventure!

I love high school football in small Texas towns!!!
Unfortunately this is the last high school football game that joey will be working for awhile (maybe forever?)... today was his last day of work here in Denison... onward and upward to bigger and better things.

Tonight we had a big graduation party in on honor of Joey's Master degree.
We had a great turn out, the food was good and it so fun to spend the evening with wonderful friends!

Sept 4-10, 2011

A quick stop at Bompa's and Grandma's for the night... church with Grandpa at First Baptist Church and then we're back on the road.
There have been a million pictures taken on this porch over the years.
We've arrived on vacation and were greeted with an unwanted guest named Tropical Storm Lee.... the waves and weather were absolutely insane!
Since we couldn't be on the beach we spent the day at the outlet mall (oh, how I hate shopping) and going out to lunch at Lambert's (one of our favorites!)

The tropical storm has gone and life on the beach is back to normal.
oh, how we've missed you white sand beaches!!!

Live music, cool breeze, fresh shrimp — at Lulu's At Homeport Marina (Lulu is Jimmy Buffett's sister)

Life is good on vacation.

Sitting on the balcony reading, watching the sun set and listening to the waves.
Perfection.
sleep in
breakfast
play at the beach
eat lunch
swim in the pool
take a nap
go out to dinner
take a walk on the beach and collect shells

repeat the next day.

our schedule for a whole week.

isn't it glorious!

taking our chairs out to the beach and watching the sun set ... one of my very favorite activities and the way we end every trip to Gulf Shores.

I always get sad when it's over... its just so wonderful. I'm so grateful for those experiences and opportunities that create wonderful family memories.

Sept 1-3, 2011

I LOVE listening to Buddy through the baby monitor... I lay in bed and listen to him sing, talk and make car noises... I'll be sad when this age passes.

Making cards with friends for National Grandparents Day that's in a few days... unfortunately Buddy's mom dropped the ball and never got the cards in the mail.  Nonetheless, we love our Grandparents!

We're off on our vacation... and if I had to guess I'd say he's a little bit tired of being in the car all day :)

He is a great traveler though... easily entertained and never cries or complains.

p.s. picture taken through the car window after a long day!

August 2011 - part 2

August 16-31st..

My consigning friend emailed and asked if I was looking for anything for the baby (she is the QUEEN of garage sales and estate sales)... I told her I was looking for a double stroller.

Three days later she shows up with the beautiful $300+ stroller, new in the box... says its a gift... and won't take a dime for it.

So touched by random acts of kindness... thank you CJ!

Buddy goes to Bo's little preschool two days a week for a couple of hours... he LOVES Bo!
When I pulled up he was peeking at the window and kept yelling "hi Mommy!!"

Somebody broke in to our car (again), stole our stereo (again) and our GPS... so we're installing another cheap radio... happy Monday to us!

We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary with lunch at Chick-fil-A and an afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese... because really, nothing says romance like Chuck E. Cheese.

p.s. Joey's Graduation is today... we planned on being there but I wasn't cleared to travel yet so we weren't able to go.  Congrats... so proud!

Little man hates all loud noises right now... including the vacuum... every time we pull the vacuum out he hurry and covers his ears... too cute!

Tonight we attended an open house for our friend Daniel who recently joined the Marines... home from basic training he seems to be doing really good and hopefully the Military is the perfect fit for him.

We are all about cars right now.  24/7.

In other news Joey has a second job interview with a TV station Ft. Worth this afternoon.  Crossing our fingers.

Running errands early Monday morning... he looks about as excited as I feel.
p.s. we really really wish our Water Dept would join the 21st century and let us pay online.  or over the phone.  Seriously.

it's been a really bumpy pregnancy... and we haven't really told very many people.

But today my doctor took me off most of my restrictions,  said I was fairly "normal" at this point and I'm feeling really good so we started telling people today.
So grateful for this little (big!) miracle.

A play date with Angie and boys at McDonald's.... strawberry shakes required.

we found out today that Joey got the job in Ft. Worth... big big changes for our little family.  So excited for him (and us!)

The heat... oh my, the insane heat.  It feels like it will never ever end.  Its one of the hottest summers on record... that's saying a lot for Texas.

And just in time for 112 degree days our pool has closed for the season.  I think they should take a poll before they decide these things.

I think he has every single blanket and stuffed animal he owns shoved in crib.  Funny little kid.
Today was my last shot after 23+ weeks of being on hormone injections... happy happy day.

Totino's Pizza... our "Sunday after Church" lunch.

our friends sister was killed in a car accident yesterday... I ran to get them some treats for their long long drive to AZ... when I got to their house and called I found out they had decided to leave the night before instead of this afternoon like they had planned.  Can I get points for good intentions?

August 2011 - part 1

August 1-15...

Celebrating National Chocolate Chip day!!

Such an insanely hot Summer... we're at 100+ days over 100 degrees... Our "lawn" has big dirt cracks in it... we're slowly slowly melting away.

We have a standing swim date every week at the Cooper's house... we love getting together with friends to swim.  Grateful for the Cooper's and their hospitality!

Lib and I were talking on the phone about how Mac & Cheese is not a dinner item... a couple of days later I got a package in the mail with Mac & Cheese in it... I LOVE the note that says its for "Lunch Only"... haha!

we went with friends to the Sherman Fire station with treats and cards to thank the firemen for ALL the fires they've been putting out this Summer.  They gave us hats and let us sit in the truck... it was every little boys dream come true!

Our craft for the day... we're learning about fish... Buddy LOVES it and calls it his "Buddy Fish"... so cute!
Best friends watching soccer on a Saturday morning... he LOVES his daddy!

My Uncle Daniel passed away... we knew it was coming after a long struggle with cancer... but it was still sad... the good to come of it though was to get to see my family for a day and a half... (I wasn't cleared by my doctor to travel to the funeral).   They did a marathon drive from Utah to Mississipp... Mississippi to Texas and then back to Utah in just four days.

In the short time they were here we ate awesome Mexican food from The Bus, a tour of little historic town, a stop at the Katy Depot, a trip to the Eisenhower head and an evening at the Beach.  It was way too short and so much fun!

He'll be mad at me for this picture... but I LOVE his tan lines... its a sign of a fun summer at the pool!
p.s. the tan lines are awesome in real life... the picture doesn't do it justice!
It's official... I'm a boy mama!  Soooo excited for this little one!

Joey and Thomas let Buddy and I tag along to their monthly lunch day at La Placita... awesome El Salvadorian food... sooo good!!

Angie and I spent the day together at the pool with our kids... it was so so soo hot... but so fun!  We've talked about doing it all Summer... I'm so happy we finally got to do it!

Oh the sensory bucket... such a fun idea gone terribly wrong!

Buddy dumped it while I was in the shower and I didn't even try to save it.  Goodbye sensory bucket... never again.
